Custom Illustrated Canvas Shoes

So, I recently finished customizing my first pair of shoes. It was a fun process and I plan to do some more. This was definitely a trial & error test and for the most part, everything went smoothly. The only real issue I ran into was that the tip of the fine tip paint marker had a tendency to catch the canvas which would cause little ink speckles to land randomly outside where I was drawing. After running into that issue a few times, I started to draw with the marker tip in a direction that was least likely to catch the canvas fibers. The other thing I learned was that if you color the rubber, the paint only sits on top of the surface which means it scuffs off easily. I used a pencil to do the initial drawing and POSCA paint markers to do the actual drawing. These markers are supposed to lightproof and waterproof.
