Looking for Your Voice
I’ve heard that the best way for an artist to find their voice is to shout shout shout until they find it. I believe it, except I don’t really shout. I’m more of the quiet type. And my art reflects that very much so. It’s not loud, it’s pretty soft, but it isn’t exactly quiet either. I’ve found the best thing is to just create create create until you take a step back, look at all the work that’s been done and slowly realize your voice was there this whole time. It just didn’t reveal itself until it was surrounded by lots and lots of work. The other thing that’s important is to just create without thinking about other people and how they might view it. The more you focus on the type of work you want to create, the more your voice will show itself.
